May offers spectacular panoramas in the Caucasus. This year our guests, currently travelling in Georgia, are experiencing especially beautiful mountains. There was a lot of fresh snow high up, now covering the mountain tops like white blankets.
While the snow looks beautiful in the mountains, the lower regions have experienced plenty of rain and rockfalls, making some routes impassable for a few days.
Although we can’t always make the sun shine, we adapt our individual route suggestions in line with the weather forecast and current road conditions in the various regions of Georgia. Sometimes, we even adjust our route recommendations during the trips, always aiming to provide our guests with the best possible experience here in the Caucasus.

Our youngest guests
Since we travel a lot with our own children, we are always happy to receive young families. Our youngest guests so far were two and three years old, and in May, they were on an adventurous safari exploring Vashlovani Park.
Protests in Tbilisi
Here in Georgia there is significant resistance to the introduction of a law often referred to in the media as the “Russian Law.” Demonstrations in front of the parliament sometimes block the traffic in the city centre.
Tourists visiting Georgia are not affected by these protests.
Meeting old and new friends
Welcoming guests for a second (or third) trip is a special honour for us. Christian and his friends have already been to Dagestan. They just travelled through Georgia with us, and we’ll see where their next adventure takes them.

Travel & Visa
The easiest way to travel to Georgia is by flying into Tbilisi or to Kutaisi. No visa is needed.
To Dagestan (airport “MCX”) flyredwings and pobeda flies regularly from Istanbul. Most nationalities can apply for your Russia visa (up to 16 days) online.
Longer Russia tourist visa are of course still available.
Dozens of world travellers from European countries have driven from Georgia to Russia in the past few weeks.
The border crossing is slow and usually takes a few hours, but we’ve only heard good things about the experience otherwise.
Landslides
If you’re driving in the Caucasus when the snow melts, watch the weather, temperature, and rain!
Even already clear roads can become blocked again by avalanches, rockfalls, and deep mud.
