Summer has arrived in the Caucasus! Our June was full of adventures, with visits from very nice guests, some families with small children, and of course a special reunion: We were delighted to welcome Cathrin and Georg.

Georg, a university friend of Andreas, was on a 14-day 4×4 self-drive tour in our UAZ 4×4 Camper with Cathrin, and the two were so kind and documented their tour with great photos and detailed notes.

In early July, we headed to Dagestan, alongside several guests. These special cross-border tours, on which we explore the highlights of the North Caucasus, continue throughout July and August – the next newsletter will then report from Dagestan.

Best regards and have a great summer!
Andreas and Sveta

Our Self-Drive Tours in Detail – What Awaits You?

Curious about what awaits you on a tour with us? Cathrin has documented her 4×4 journey in Georgia in a very detailed travel report and online diary on Polarsteps. It is the perfect preview for your own Caucasus self-drive adventure with us.

Abandoned Military Airfield and the Vashlovani Steppes

Here are a few fantastic shots that Cathrin and Georg captured with their drone in the far east of Georgia. Many thanks to both of them! Tip: This region is extremely hot in the height of summer. We therefore recommend a visit during the cooler months between September and May.

The decision was made several weeks ago; now we are waiting for implementation: the Russian e-visa is being extended from 16 to 30 days.
This is great news, as our guests for 2026 will likely benefit from it and have more time to explore Dagestan.
