We recently received many tour requests for July and August, which are peak tourist season in Georgia. Although these months are nice, summers in Georgia can be very hot and crowded in some places

To better understand the Pros and Cons of the various seasons, we created a little weather overview below.
Our favorite time for
exploring the Caucasus is definitely September/October, followed by April/May and June.

The last weeks we have been very active, scouting the most authentic vineyards and tastiest cooking classes for our guests. Finally, we also found a partner for horse riding in Georgia. Muhmad not only has adequate equestrian training and education, but most importantly, truly appreciates his animals.

Greetings from Tbilisi and anytime of the year – welcome to Georgia!

 Andreas and Sveta

PS: If you want to explore Georgia yourself, a few cars are still available in June and October.

Best months for visiting Georgia & Caucasus:

February, March

  • great price/value at Georgian mountain resorts, perfect for a few ski days and exploring (eastern) Georgia by 4×4, good time for city tourism and visiting Tbilisi
  • breathtaking snowy Caucasus
  • suitable temperatures for exploring and camping in the lower regions
  • single-digit temperatures in the mountains, snow-camping is possible (all our cars have heaters)
  • 4×4 tracks through the mountains impassable due to snow

April, May, June

  • spring in the Caucasus is beautiful
  • depending on altitude & region somewhere, usually great weather
  • wonderful panoramas, mountain peaks still covered in snow
  • Vashlovani great until ~mid May

  • many mountain 4×4 tracks higher than 2000m only open from June

July, August

  • perfect beach weather
  • all mountain passes accessible
  • really hot in the lower regions and in Tbilisi (like Spain in summer)
  • well known tourist places can be crowded
  • nature can be dry and brownish
  • Vashlovani area too hot for a visit

September, October

  • very nice temperatures, mostly T-Shirt weather
  • mountains & nature changes to gorgeous autumn colors (e.g. Tusheti is amazing in September)
  • wonderful panoramas, mountain peaks covered with fresh snow
  • great time for Vashlovani
  • the highest mountain passes close around October due to snow

@EntdeckerWecker - Exploring the world by UAZ 4x4

A young German couple travelling the Silk Road by UAZ Bukhanka? Immediately, we sent out an invitation to meet us in Tbilisi. Sina and Jan are amazing and reminded us a lot of our younger selves during the big road trip we did around Africa some eight years ago. Here is their Instagram
