In September and October, Georgia and the entire Caucasus is just wonderful. High up in the mountains, the annual colourful spectacle begins. The forests turn into the most beautiful shades of yellow and red, and every gust of wind swirls the colourful leaves from the trees. In the lower areas, it’s still T-shirt weather, while over 3000m the first snowflakes are already falling. It’s not only the time of the grape harvest, but the local markets are also bursting with ripe fruits and vegetables.

Not without reason, September has always been the first fully booked month in the booking calendar. We also love this season in the Caucasus and have been out and about with our children and friends at every opportunity in the past weeks.

We wish you a great autumn as well and look forward to our online meeting at the beginning of November.

Elections in Georgia - what does it mean for 2025?

On 26.10., elections were held in Georgia, as expected, accompanied by numerous reports of irregularities. It is quite possible that Georgia will make headlines again with protests in the near future. However, demonstrations are usually limited to the streets in front of the parliament and have no impact on our 4×4 self-drive tours.

A great idea

Anh-Thy and David were not only on an adventure trip in Georgia, but it was also an extensive test drive. When they returned to Tbilisi with a broad smile, the decision was made. “We are also buying a Bukhanka”. We really liked the lampions with which they decorated the UAZ, and it will probably become part of our equipment.

Nature is the best playground

We love being outdoors with Olivia and Felix because our children always find something to do in nature. Whether it’s damming a stream, discovering animals and plants, or lighting a fire. If we then hang a hammock or stretch a few ropes between trees, the children’s happiness is complete.

Entry & visa

Georgia is easy to reach from Europe with a flight to the capital Tbilisi or to Kutaisi, no visa is required.

Dagestan  (airport “MCX”) is best reached with the airline Pobeda almost daily from Istanbul.
For to 16 days you can get Russia tourist visas online, longer Russia visas you apply for in your home country.
Transit visas for Russia (e.g., if you are travelling on to Kazakhstan) are available in Tbilisi and Yerevan.
