We took advantage of the beautiful autumn weather in October to check out some new routes and locations and (to the great delight of our children) came across our first snow high up in the mountains. On another road trip, Sveta drove with our neighbor and her children to the very south of Dagestan to visit the famous liana forest with its giant trees and to splash around in the Caspian Sea for the last time at the Ekranoplan. We also found (and ate) plenty of mushrooms.

Tuesday, December 14th, 2021 20:00 (UK time) will be our next online presentation about travelling Dagestan.

All the best,

Many thanks to our guests, who have provided many pictures from their journeys over the past few months. Now the most beautiful of them have found their way to our website. Have fun browsing.

Our guests

Usually, they travel with roof-tent and their top-equipped Jeep “John”.   But in October Nadine and Lars switched to one of our UAZ campers to explore the most beautiful places in Dagestan.

Derbent - one of the oldest cities in Russia

The ancient city on the coast of the Caspian Sea is one of the places in Dagestan where you can strongly feel the history of thousands of years passing through our region. Here is an interesting report with more details.
