July and August you have the unique opportunity to discover the whole Caucasus from Georgia to Dagestan on a self-drive tour behind the steering wheel of our UAZ 4×4 Offroad-Camper.
Two time frames are planned:
July 7th – July 27th, 2024 (Starting in Tbilisi – Ending in Makhachkala)
August 10th – August 30th, 2024 (Starting in Makhachkala – Ending in Tbilisi)
As self-driver in a UAZ 4×4 camper, you will explore Dagestan and Georgia on your individual adventure tour.
There are only 3 vehicles available per travel period. Once they are booked, there will be a waiting list.
FAQs:
Can I travel to Russia? Do I need a visa?
For tourists in Russia, there have been no changes since 2022. Visas are issued as usual, and entry procedures remain the same.
Western tourists regularly cross the North Caucasus region on their around-the-world travels. In 2023, we personally had contact with several Western travellers who reported only positive experiences both at the border and within the country.
For example, here’s a recent travel report from Greta and Jan from Germany, who travelled to Dagestan with their vehicle in the summer of 2023.
Visas:
For stays of up to 16 days, you can conveniently apply for a Russia e-Visa online. For visits lasting more than 16 days, longer tourist visas are also available.
(No visas are required for Georgia.)

You will fly to Tbilisi, Georgia, where we will pick you up from the airport, provide off-road training and introduce you to your vehicle. We will together go through your suggested route and you will explore Georgia for the next few days. Around July 14th, we will travel together via the famous Georgian Military Road with our UAZ buses to Dagestan.

Prices, booking and cancellation
Payment for your Transcaucasus tour:

2) At the end of January 2024, it will be confirmed whether the Transcaucasus trip will proceed as planned. At that time, another 40% payment is due.
3) The remaining 40% is due no later than when you pick up the vehicle.
Cancellation of a Transcaucasus trip:
1) Until the end of January 2024, you can cancel anytime for any reason and receive a full refund of your deposit.
If the trip’s execution is not confirmed by us in January 2024, you will also receive a full refund of your deposit.
2) Once you have made the second payment, we consider your participation as confirmed. If you are unable to join the trip at that point, and your vacant spot is not filled by other participants, we reserve the right to retain your already paid amounts.
We recommend considering travel insurance that covers this situation.
What do we do if... ?
However, as professional tour operator, we also need to consider unlikely scenarios.
To provide you with the best possible clarity, here are some “what if…?” scenarios:
Entry into Russia not possible (no visas, closed borders, declaration of martial law, etc.):
We will offer you an equivalent 4×4 self-drive trip in the South Caucasus, where you can explore the most beautiful places in Georgia and Armenia.
Political unrest in Russia
(e.g., protests as seen after mobilization in the fall of 2022): Demonstrations typically downtown in the big cities. Our trip, which passes through sparsely populated mountain regions, will not be affected.
Your safety and to be able to relax and enjoy your holiday are our top priorities. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
